New Orleans’ own Hot 8 Brass Band has epitomized
New Orleans street music for over a decade
playing the traditional Second Line parades and
performances filled with funk and energy! The
members of the Hot 8 Brass Band were born and
raised in New Orleans, they have performed at the
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and
festivals across the US and Europe, and were
featured in both Spike Lee documentaries When
the Levees Broke and If God is Willing and Da
Creek Don't Rise. Hot 8 has released three
critically acclaimed recordings and is featured
on the latest Blind Boys of Alabama recording.
