Back by popular demand, Masters of Soul will perform 2 shows at Freedom Hall on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, (SOLD OUT) 2016 at 7:30. This encore performance for Masters of Soul with a holiday twist is always a sell out at Freedom Hall! Masters of Soul is a celebration of the Motown era featuring hits from the Temptations – Gladys Knight & the Pips – Marvin Gaye – Smokey Robinson & the Miracles – Aretha Franklin – Four Tops – Diana Ross & Supremes and many more! The show features stylishly costumes, fully choreographed performances of both male and female groups backed by a live Motown band.
The performance begins at 7:30. Tickets are $30 or $26 for season subscribers.
About Masters of Soul
Master of Soul performance celebrates the music and careers of the iconic artists who had such a profound influence on the history of popular music. For many, Masters of Soul is the ultimate stroll down memory lane. For younger generations, the show offers a way to experience a period in our country’s past that produced many of the greatest music acts ever recorded.
John Hodges (lead vocalist) – John with his rich bass baritone vocals, has often been compared to Melvin Franklin of the Temptations and the incomparable Barry White. He has toured extensively across the US and overseas performing at events and festivals from coast to coast.
Dario Outlaw (lead vocalist) – Dario is a professional singer and choreographer for Masters of Soul. Dario’s performance has been compared to Prince and specifi¬cally to the song “Kiss.” His energetic moves always keep the crowd amazed and entertained!
Ronald Smith (lead vocalist) – Ronald, lovingly known as “Smitty,” has a vocal range that demonstrates a falsetto to second baritone range. He sings profession¬ally with various bands, vocal groups, and recording artists.
Jermaine Newsome (keyboardist) – “Jay,” as he is known, is the music director and keyboard player for Masters of Soul. His many talents include producing for national and international acts. He is an accomplished piano player, bass guitarist and drummer.
Oscar Waters (bassist) – Oscar is a seasoned performer, singer and bassist with Masters of Soul and The TFC Band. He has worked and appeared with many national artists and various other acts and legends. He has been touring with Masters of Soul for the past 18 years.
Darrell Ballard (guitarist) – Darrell started playing lead guitar at a young age and has been employed as a musician his entire life. His passion for music shows in his performances. Motown is Darrell’s favorite genre of music, and he keeps the sounds and styles of Motown alive.
Al Hundley (drummer) – Al started his music career at the age of 13 in middle school and has been performing ever since with various bands. He says the experience has brought him great success.
Deneen (Lady D) (lead vocalist) – “Lady D,” sings with various groups and is a gospel recording artist. She astounds audiences with her incredibly powerful vocals and will bring you to your feet with her stirring rendition of Gladys Knight’s “Neither One of Us.”
Shinee Cruise (lead vocalist) – Shinee worked in demo singing, background vocals, arranging music and was signed by an independent local label. You will enjoy Shinee as she performs tributes to The Supremes as Diana Ross and Mary Wells.
Ophelia Vaughan (lead vocalist) – Ophelia has always been surrounded by music. Her father Oscar Waters is the bass player for Masters of Soul. Ophelia is a lead and backup singer for Masters of Soul.
